JD 6410 starting problem

My wife went to start the 6410 the other day and it started and ran for a few seconds and shut off. When she tried it again, it spun over about three times and went dead. When I checked it, the crank fuse was blown. Now everytime you try and crank it, the fuse blows. The starter will not spin. You just hear a click in the console and the fuse blows. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You most likely hve a short in the starter circuit somewhere. Probably the wire that energizes the starter solenoid.

have seen that problem once before...found the wire to/from the nuetral start switch grounded to the transmission housing. Wires come up the left side of the transmission in a small conduit Removing the cab floor plate will allow acess.
