TRADING remorse ....

Sorta wondering f I did the rite thing , guess everyone feels this way on trades , .. Pal of mine wanted 14 round bales and my 4 wheel drive 89 Dodge gassHAUWG more than I did ,, took him up !,, when He offered me some cash and a MFerguson 12 baler , 477 NHhaybine , low miles (not running ) 1964 Kaiser -Willys-Jeep pickup,, All need some TLC , but all can work fine with just a little Expertise and adjustment ,possible double the investment ,.. And MUTUALLY both of us are better off and reasonably satisfied with Our imperfect trades.LOL ... But , Now, after a 110 day drought,. since it is raining , i miss my 4 wheel drive ... guess i need to fix the Willys

The way I see it is you made out the best. The Dodge has about peaked out as far as value, and in the decline. Now the Willys will continut to hold value as a collector vehicle, not much, but I doubt it will decline in value, and may go up some as the years go by. Now if the willys is a total rust bucket, that is another story. That is why I have so much junk I never like to sell, or trade anything, I figure after the deal I got had. Stan

There are millions of 4 wheel drives out there and the only way that Dodge is holding any value is by the fact that scrap is going up. That is if it's not losing to many pieces along the road. You did ok on this trade unless what you got was complete junk also.

Go to youtube.com and type in Jeep Teardown. Watch the military guys tear a jeep down in less than 4 minutes and reassemble it. Pretty cool I must say.

I think you did fine Jim. I had a 49 Willy's years ago. Worse thing about the Jeep is you could feel the bump when you ran over leaves in the road. It sure was solid though. Kinda wish I still had it. Gerard

Don't know why, but I am always wonderin if I did the right thing after any deal. Sometimes, its so obvious that I got a good deal, yet I still wonder if I did the right thing. Usually, after a week or so, the second guessing myself goes away. Go figure...

Sounds like you did fine.
The Willys/Kaiser pickups tend to hold value,
but their Wagons dont, for some reason.
A lot of the parts interchange,
so if you need a bunch of parts,
maybe look at a same vintage Wagon for parts.

Any trade that makes you wonder was probably well balanced. Thus all is well. If one person becomes ecstatic, there is probably a hard feeling in there some where. Though sometimes the deal is the pleasure of giving. Jim

Very true , and we do want to remain respected friends and continue to trade ,,And . So well done !,, after research I do believe that Willys Jeep put this trade on the hi side after all,, And to think I was debating turning it down ....

this old pickup was given to my brother by a neighbor Itook the picture last winter
