OT back to square one

I've got an Oliver 70 here that I just can't fall in love with and it seems like every time I get it in the shop, all I do is work on it to bring it back to where it was last time I had it in. I finally found a good pair of 40 inch tires for it at a show this past summer, rims and all,and I put them on a few weeks ago. Well, one of them kept going soft every 4-5 days, and I knew one of the old ones had a new tube in it,so I broke them down and swapped them out today. So,I'm right back to where I thought I was a few weeks ago....again.
One of these days I'm just going to force myself to work on the darned thing until I get a paint job sprayed on it so I can call it done.

When I have a day like that, my wife tells me that I must love doing it or I would quit. I tell her I love it when everything works like it should.Chris

Aint that the TRUTH! I have a love/hate relationship with mechanical work. I love doing it but it sure drives me crazy!

That is one of many Oliver-s I wish I had. Would be nice to have one for cutting hay one for raking hay and one for baling the hay then I could stop using them hard on the back tractor for doing hay LOL

We had an Oliver 70 once. It wasn't a bad running and driving tractor IF YOU COULD EVER GET THE DAMMED THING STARTED. Everyone in the county worked on it at some time or other with no result.

My father dumped it in a salvage yard long before its time just to get it out of his sight.

I try not to start more than two projects at once anymore. That way if I get tired of it, my plan is to finish it anyway instead of letting it linger. Notice that TRY in the first sentence?? Got about 10 started and at least 30 waiting. And I keep buying things!!! Don't feel lonely!!!
