Can the governor on a "B" can be removed from the engine without disassembling the fan, fan shroud etc.

A John Deere or an Allis or a Farmall? Guessing you maybe have a JD, kind of like people who say they're from Portland apparently not realizing that there is another one in Maine. I know on an Allis it comes right off, but I have no experience with the other two governors.

Sorry. So used to working on IH equipment that I forgot there are orher makers that used this same model designation.

Yes it is easier to loosen the fan belt also. Just be careful not to remove the gov drive or you will getit out of time. Ive done it many times so its easy for me.

I never was near that one but I've heard of it. I grew up about 20 miles north of Portland ME so that is the one with which I am familiar.

I think Portland, ME is better known than Portland, IN. And I'm guessing neither is as well known to most of the world as Portland, OR.

I was under the impression that when the governor was removed from the front of the engine, the entire unit, including the governor drive gear came with it.

There's a Portland in Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Connecticut, too. I couldn't find the one in Wisconsin in my Atlas, so I looked in Google maps. Is it just outside of Waterloo?
