These are pictures of my Dad when he started farming in 1930. They were breaking ground with a McCormick Deering tractor and picking corn by hand and unloading the wagon. Ron Mn

Looks like a 10-20 tractor. Having an elevator in those days was a real luxury. Never saw a slatted bang board before.
 
Thats got to be a pict of a proud new tractor owner, he was farming with good looking equipment. I only have one pict of my dad from that time and he was using horses.

Thanks for the pictures - they're really interesting.

Can you imagine the ride your dad got when he disked that field? It looks like he was plowing a pasture. The sod is really humped up.

If you have any more pictures, I'm sure everyone would enjoy seeing them.

He could pass for Henry Fonda in the 1940 movie The Grapes of Wrath in the 3rd photo.

We should all trade in our ugly baseball caps for those old ones, they had character, as did the wearers.
