Wife took out a deer with her 2006 trailblazer. Deer took out the front end - most all the plastic parts.

Now, what do you call the plastic part that goes behind the grille, and headlights? It supports the headlights and grille and is attached to the metal framework that goes around radiator.

I guess you can call it,headlight and grille support.

Plastic and deer don't mix, does it.

Actually they don't mix with steel to great either,
daughters car last spring(deer hit),insurance wrote it off

assuming trailer blazer LS 4dr ut. it is called a front panel assembly. gm part number 15831182. list price is 218.15. labor is 2.2 hours, includes r+i front bumper cover.

Head lamp mounting panel, header panel...

glennster is correct with part number, price and labor times.

i pulled the information from my estimating system here at the body shop. front panel assembly is the term gm uses in the part catalog for this particular vehicle.

Thanks, guys - will try and find one other source that GM. Have located headlight and grille. Bumper cover still fairly intact, except paint chipped, so that gets to stay.

Temporarily patched up the existing headlight, and mounted it, so wife can drive car while I"m scrounging parts.

Go LMCtruck.com I think. Or google it. They most every part for trucks and they classify those as trucks.

Wrote it off, as in totaled?

Insurance companies got no sense of humor.
Son's girlfriend did an even worse job on her Pontiac. Son rebuilt it for her. Think it cost less than a grand for parts. Labor was a labor of love....

Mine is going to be less than my deductable - if I buy the parts and install. So find my wrenches! (At least this way the insurance won't go up.)

yep,as in totalled.

body shop quoted $2900 for the job.
Insurance figgerd the car(93 Grand am) was only worth 1 thou but offered $1200,(morons thought they did me a favor)
I fought them idiots on it,collected $2200 and i kept the car.
Parts where under $500.

I've got a nephew who's pretty clever. He's a bodyman for a high-end German car dealer. Buys the salvage on most totaled 5 series BMW's that come through, takes them home and parts them out. Then when a fairly easy fixer comes along, and he knows he has the parts to fix, he repairs and sells it. Takes plenty of pics as he goes along, so he can show the buyer that even though its got a salvage title, there was no major structural damage.
