O/T credit cards

I am helping in the cashier's office today. One of our older students (40's or 50's) came by to pay his tuition for the upcoming semester.

He paid with a credit card. When I turned the card over, instead of signing on the signature line, he had written "see ID".

I thought that was a very good idea.

You are supposed to ask for ID anytime you accept a unsigned card.

WE accept many that are unsigned for that very reason.

All my credit and debit cards have the same thing on them. I have only ever been asked for picture I.D. twice in two years.

it is part of visa term of service to not require an id to use a visa card.
the store could loose their visa privaleges if they require an id with credit card use.

The United States Post Office and most of the large retail stores and gas companies will not honor a card with "See ID" on on them.

The US post office can kiss my red ***. All my cards state "SEE PHOTO ID". There is a reason why they are going broke.

My debit card is marked that way, and whenever a cashier asks to see my id I make it a point to thank them and let them know I appreciate they are protecting my identity.

I've had a credit cards since 1988 and never have I had anyone to ask for ID nor do I sign the card. The newest Visa Slate/Chase card has blink capability and blueprint. The card never leaves my hand.

I was in Walmart,(dont like going there) and when I used a credit card to pay the lady said she needed to see my drivers license. I asked "what for" She said I have to compare signatures .I said I doubt that but gave her my license, she looked at the front of the card and handed it back, never even looked at the back, needless to say my signature dont look anything like what printed on the front of the card. I always use see ID and have used it in the post office to.

With the you swipe machines the cashier never ask and never sees the card.

They don't care they still get there money.
