O/T Boring You To No End

Yeah, I know......sorry.

But UFFF-DAA! What a time I've had with this little rascal!

All started Saturday morning. Thought I'd run thru some tunes before the dance. Turned on the system and phoof! No synth input; the systems can't hear my guitar! (Probably just as well). :>)

Anyway, this guy tunes my guitar and interfaces with all the rest of my music machinery.

Just sits there and says, "Check Internal Battery".

Long story short, had to play the dance without my synths..........can ya say "yawn". :>(

Been working on it ever since and last night was ready to, at the very least, send it into Roland or maybe even buy another........ (these things are classic, built in 1988 and I don't even wanna spend that kinda cash).

By happenstance, up at 4am this morning searching the Internet, where I found a factory dump file put up by some kind soul clear back in 1990.

Anyhoo, downloaded the file and reverse dumped into the synth.

She's finally up, running and handshaking with the other machinery; will prbably take me another two days to get the sensitivity, bend control, and all those other vital primeters set on that second synth tho....................

Sorry fer the rant,

Allan

You've got a lot of determination there Allen. I probably would have opted for the un-plugged, acoustic guitar instead.

Very cool. I knew it would need the volatile RAM restored in some manner. It never occurred to me someone would have it on the internet. Do you ever sleep????

You're not boring us at all, Allan- We that are technilogically challenged just skip over this stuff. We assume that someone besides you understands it, and let it go at that. It used to bother me when I couldn't understand something- but now, I'm just sliding effortlessly into geezerhood, and its like water off a duck's back.

Don't know if I can agree with Cowman that you need more cows- I never found that to be much of a solution to anything. A very wise man told me about 30 years ago that I needed to limit the scope of my part-time farm, because the smaller the multiplier, the lower the losses. I took it to heart in 1985, and sold every cow critter on the place. It worked out well for me, except I married a woman who was addicted to horses. I had no concept that an animal that is about the same size as a cow could cost 3 times as much to maintain.

Pretty good fortune cookie you found on the net! Software is so necessary. (I hope the Device fit the feed tractor) Jim
