JD 630 Steering

How do you remove the steering assembly from a JD 630? I'm trying to get to the u-joint closest to the steering wheel. It's tucked in behind the console area and it looks like it needs attention but I can't figure out how to remove that section of the steering rod.

You have to take the front end completely off.

pay no attention to the response from looney. its a shame that a troll would give somebody bad advice. drop down to the john deere forum and post your question, one of the guys there will be glad to help you out.

On a 430 you take the dash out, or move it to side. and the steering shaft is held on with 3 bolts, or rather the bracket that holds the steering shaft. It will then slide off. You will have to take the steering wheel off to get the dash off.
