rideing in veterans day perade and would like to display late uncles flag (folded in case) on tractor. should i do this only on memorial day? should i honor only the currant vets. on veterans day ?

Your Late Uncle would be proud to have you display his Flag in remembrance, as well as a lot of us Vets.

Any gesture like that is appreciated and not looked upon as only a decoration to further the dress of the tractor.

In my eyes I don't mind seeing flags even flying
On any type of vehicle. as long as it is presented with respect.

If it is folded leave it that way because as you said late so he is dead and a flag that was use that way should be displayed folded to show he has passed. To unfold it is to not tell others he payed the price that so many have and so many have not been showed the respect they are due. Build a box for it but do not display it as a full flag it is his death flag keep it that way. Yep D.A.V. 1974 to 1980 and son in now

I agree with Old here the flag presented in the fashion has a purpose.
illustrated in this "link"
There may also be some empty casings representing the three volleys of the twenty one gun salute.
so in respect I wouldn't unfold it.

Veterans Day is when we honor all veterans, living and dead. Memorial Day is when we honor veterans killed in war. Is the triangular folded flag presented only to family of war dead? Either way, your uncle is worthy of honor on Veterans Day. He served us and US.
