BELKNAP BLUEGRASS RIDER???? HELP!!

HELLO

I HAVE A "BELKNAP BLUEGRASS" RIDING MOWER, 50" HYDRO DECK, 16HP, HYDRO DRIVE, HEADLIGHTS... CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE VALUE?? ITS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION NO RUST AND EVERYTHING WORKS ON IT.... I HAVE SEARCHED EVERYWHERE, I KNOW IT WAS MADE IN KY BY A HARDWARE STORE BUT NO IDEAS ON ITS VALUE .... ITS ALL ORIGNAL AND STORED IN BARN FOR MANY MANY YEARS, UNCLE PASTED AND LEFT IT.
 
Speaking of Belknap Bluegrass riding mowers. Well I don t know what it is worth.
But in the tools, the Bluegrass hammer is A good collectable item.
I am A hammer collecter, and that is A very good collectable tool. I have several of them hanging in my shop. Will send pic.
I think they stop making the Belknap Bluegrass tools in the late 1950
Your mower may be worth more than you think.

Holly karple tunnel, Hammerman. What an extensive collection of one of the tools that built the USA. It dosen't seam that the hammer and shovel are the symbols of progress in this country like they used to be.
 
Belknap Hardware is now Louisville Slugger Baseball Field. They kept the facade. Very nice. Sylvestor Stallone "blew up" the rest of the building for a promo.

Belknap, who sold and distributed Bluegrass Hardware was originally based in Louisville Kentucky as mentioned. They DID NOT manufacture that lawn mower. They had several contractors who built various products for them, with the Belknap/Bluegras name on them.

In the late 1970's, Belknap started down-sizing, and moved across the river to Jeffersonville Indiana. They lasted only a few more years. Their assets were auctioned off in the mid 1980's.

As a mower, they aren't extremely valuable, but there are quite a few Belknap collectors who would probably be very interested in it.

Beleive it or not...my freind has a Blue Grass mower, and just by dumb luck i ran across a late 70's MTD. They look and are Identical to the Cast Aluminim Grill. So The BlueGrass was made by MTD. I will try to post a pic later.
