This is my desert for tonight! Wife made me a couple of Apple pies from our apples. The apples were starting to get soft so I peeled and cut them up for her to make us some pies.

Those look good. Around here I'm the pie maker, I decided I wanted to learn to do it a few years ago and it wasn't as hard as I thought. We have lard for the crusts so that helps make it flakier too. Something that every young man might find to be a useful skill.

I usually just look at the great pictures, you guys post, and then go on about my business, but this time, they look too good to be true!. Apple pie, with vanilla Ice cream is my all time favorite, even though MOM always called me pieface, and said that I would eat anything with a crust on it. I've got to learn how to do that!! The wife is good at it, when she feels like it, but hasn't had the urge for yrs now, It's probably cheaper to learn myself, than trying to replace her, however that should be good grounds for replacement. Think the judge would agree?

Makin' my mouth water! When I was a kid (back in the 40s and 50s) my mom always served sharp cheddar cheese with her homemade apple pie at the family thanksgiving dinner! Couldn't afford the cheese for regular eatin' of her apple pies but we got along somehow. LOL
I like to save my apple pie for breakfast; goes real good with my morning coffee!
