Need to find some old school parts for a Chev 250

Boy wants me to start finding parts for his 1951 Chev pick up so we can put a built 250-6 in it.
Looking for some of the old hot rod stuff you could get for them back in the 60s like the extra long intake and the dual exhaust. Plus things like the wiper motor that does not run off vacuum. When done this should have a 4 speed and maybe either an Aux tranny or an over drive to help[ with the mileage on it. Also going with a 3/4 ton rear end so we can beef it up for pulling a camper behind it. Ya I know your going to say why not put a 350 in but he does not want a V-8 and I have this 250 here that I built years ago and has less then 3000 mile on it since built.
So any body have an ideas where to find some of the old type performance parts for that engine??
Thanks.
Boy will be back home next Sept. and hopes by then that I will have all the parts and maybe part way done build this for him

Of I was going to pull a Camper I would go with a 292 and a 4 spd truck trans. and a 4.11 gear. The 250's I have had wouldn't hardly pull the truck they were in empty.

This 250 has been built as in bored 40 over the head milled and a performance cam installed. This is an engine that I built some 10 plus years ago and is just sitting in my shop waiting for a new home. I had it in a 1969 Chev till the rear suspension broke where the coil springs where mounted so I took it and the 4 speed out

Check www.stovebolt.com. Many guys use a 5 speed from an S-10, 5th is overdrive, and will bolt up to bellhousing, only need to set up driveshaft.

Hope this helps, I have a 1950 Chevrolet 3100 with a built dual carb 261.

Friend of mine used to beat 348 Chevys with his '53 Chevy with a 261 truck motor in it..!!
May have had pistons and cam changed...
He mounted a 216 valve cover on it and got away with claiming a 216 at the strip near here..!!

My old mail Jeep ('69) had a Chevy 153 in it and it used Chevy 250 pistons and rods..

Maybe you can find a good 292 6 cylinder for him..??

Guess your not reading this as it is. I have this 250 built and it has nothing wrong with it and less then 300 miles on a total rebuild ground up why would I want to built another engine when I have this one already built

Reason we/I am thinking about an over drive or an aux trany is I have 4 aux trannys laying around any how. Only problem the boy would have is not knowing what to do with 16 forward gears top gear being an over drive 3rd being a direct drive and 1st and 2nd being low gears in the aux tranny

Here are a couple more that others didn't mention.
