Stuck my compacct tractor tonight mowing down by the pond. Got the wife with 4 wheel pickup and that started sliding. Quit before I got in more trouble.
Daughter brought the 4 wheeler and got the neighbor who helped get both of them out. (Wish I had pictures of the dumb move)

Sure do like him - and owe a favor!

Good Neihgborship is give and take. Today you Took, tomarrow you may have to Give. It all comes out in the wash of Living and Enjoying life with real friends.

Take him with ya to put new tires on the truck and take him to Hooters.
Just pick up some flowers for the boss on the way home....

Yep,I sure do miss it. Getting few and far between. Don't get me wrong, still a few around, but not like when this was a real "community" before the WWII and Korean War generation started passing on. I'd love to go back to those times.
I remember when the barn burned in 1964,neighbors walking into the yard while the flames were still shooting in the air, carrying milker buckets,a vaccum pump, one of them saying we were going to have to milk the cows the hard way tonight. Gonna have to tie'em to a tree.

There are still good people that make good neighbors. I have good ones on three sides. The fourth are from Chicago so they are never here. The best neighbor that I have is from New York City of all places. Hot temper Italian with a heart of gold. His wife CAN COOK, it is a treat to go visit for supper. So not all city people are bad news, just most. LOL

Like others here have said you have to be a good neighbor to have them. Now I have some real bad ones on a couple of farms we rent. Move to the country and then complain about normal country things: Working after dark, spreading manure, spraying the crops (got sued over that once) etc.

Hear you RR
Back in about 73 - 74 was working for my Uncle and cousins in the middle of the summer. One of the cousin's BIL had a FIRE in his milking parlor/hay storage area. Everybody dropped everything and were there with everything they could bring - but total loss.
