There actually is no model 801. 801 is the series. The serial number will show Which model it actually is.811, 811D, 811L, 821, 821D, 821L, 841, 841D, 841L, 841-21, 841-21D, 841-21L, 851, 851D, 851L, 861, 861D, 861L, 871, 871D, 871L, 881, 881D, and 881L.
It all depends on how the tractor is equipped.
Very good machines.
The 861 would be a 5 speed with live hydraulics and PTO.

The tractor I'am looking at has Ford 801 Powermaster on the side engine cover. is this a 861? THX, JT

801 is the series of the tractor. There where a number of models of the 801 made. The common ones being the 841 which had a 4 speed and non live PTO. The 851 which was a 5 speed with non live PTO the 861 which was a 5 speed with live PTO the 871 which was the SOS and live PTO and the 881 which was the SOS and had a 2 speed live PTO., There are a few other models also. Model and serial numbers are found on a flat spot just below the battery box towards the rear end from the start

Ford had a tendency to make generic stickers to put on the tractor, to label the whole series of tractors.

To know the model of the tractor, you need to look up the serial number, and figure out the options it has.

A whole lot of tractors had the 801 sticker on it. You will need to look at the serial number, to find out which of the good list of models the other person listed it really is.

A Ford 861 is often thought of as the best of the line, with good 5 speed tranny & live pto. Can't tell from the sticker on the hood tho, if that is what it is.

You can find the model and serial # stamped on the flat surface above, and to the rear of the tractor's starter. put your left hand on the starter, and sweep right, flat level surface, about 3" in from the edge.
