Bambi blasting season opens tomorrow

Get one for me. I saw a beautiful buck run out while disking today. It was one of those moments that I could have easily got him.

Good luck in the field B&D.
We'll go up Friday for our first weekend of 3.
A good deer helps to justify my owning tractors. - Plots and mowing weeds for edible growth.

I'm gunning for Bambi's mother! Or Faline! Rifle season starts Nov. 15th in Michigan. For the really hardy, Muzzle loader season opens in December. Archers have already had their turn.
As much as they ate of my crops, a turnabout is fair play. I hope to put some meat in my freezer, in return.

Good luck B&D! My brother in law got a 10 point buck this week, opening of bow season here in NY.

Looks like you guys have it bad. Season that start on a week day is a season made to protect the deer instead of get them. Here in Missouri bow season opened Sept 15th and has for years but gun season always opens on a Saturday so the lager number of hunters can be out in the field. Gun season opens here on the 13th of Nov and runs till the 24th for any deer then from the 25th 10 days for atlerless deer

BD--have a good safe trip....the bucks were really moving in SW WI this past weekend..am going back Tuesday for the rest of the week..bow yet for another 3 weeks....WOW!!!!

Nuthin better than a bambi hind quarter on the weber grill with some hickory chips, leave those bucks and does and take a bambi!!! MMMMM good eatin!!!

here in MO. we had Youth firearms season this weekend, my son did his job and got bambi, his first kill!

he wants to just make jerky out of it all, but there is NO WAY i'm grinding those little tenderloins up.

Bagged this fella with a bow this past weekend. He was not real happy I was standing in his part of the woods and was coming to run me off. About 25 yards out he decided I wasn't what he though I was, and turned to run off.

To Late.......

Gun doesn't start here until the Monday after Thanksgiving. Did a decent Doe two weeks ago. Might be tagged out before gun season gets here. Have three weekends of bow hunting before then.

How does it work in Canada? Can you own a firearm? Or are you talking about using a bow to hunt with?

Firearms deer season opens on 11-15 in Michigan. Lotsa a deer by me.

Nearly impossible to possess/purchase ammo or even just plain "non military appearing" firearms. Enough paperwork aggravation and fees to prevent any new young hunters. Just us middled aged and fading older hunters left that are stubborn and have deep pockets.
The anti gunners are winning yet the number of violent firearm crimes just keep increasing among drugs and gangs in the urban centers.

Geez I thought you were retired. Have a safe hunting trip.

Retired and/or getting too old for some things yes. Still get out for moose and deer. Occasional wall eye fishing and coyote hunting.

But......restricting firearm ownership is supposed to prevent firearm crime....Right.

I aint registering any of my guns if it ever came to that.

Ive been working on the tie up roof for 4 hours today, never heard one shot during that time.Deer hunting is on the decline here in Maine.I see very little deer sign or deer now.The corner store used to be busy with hunters no more.Hunting has been demon ized for years, its working.

i cut meat for a living and deer on the side in my own shop. here in fingerlakes area of ny deer hunting is a dieing sport. dec officer agrees with me...that most kids now a days would rather sit in the house and the old timers are dieing off or arent able to hunt . when i turned 16 i couldnt wait to go hunting with my granfather. times have changed i guess. it use to be like world 3 on opening day around our farm, now you can sit out there all day and maybe hear 2 shots

I will butcher about 100 deer this year - For both fun and profit. The fun part is getting even with the brown garden munchers which forced me to fence 20 Ac. of truck farm. The profit part is paying good old Pa. property taxes.

Same here,I was working on the barn roof for 4 hours yesterday, didnt hear a single shot. The store near me used to be loaded with deer hunters on opening day.Saturday was opening day for residents.didnt see any deer while up on the roof .I hear very few shots during small game season now.My Grand son shows no interest in hunting but my grand daughter goes along with her boy friend on his trap line often. The high cost of licenses and guns may have caused the decrease. The demonizing of guns may be a factor.I always seem to have work that has to be done during hunting season.Coyotes have taken all the small game here and they have affected the deer herd.

I havent been thru Jackman since the mid 50s.We were headed for Canada for Christmas trees. The tractor trailer was getting low on gas so we syphoned some from the old F6 Ford.Jackman was pretty quiet at 3 am.I thought we had driven off the end of the earth.I drove up to Bingham to buy a Border Collie pup 2 years ago and some of the country looked familiar.I live in central Maine now.
