Neighbor over across the ridge brought his tub grinder and ground a little hay for me early this morning.

When I got out to the farm this morning at 8am, he had already walked thru 150 bales.

That should last those old cows a day 'er two. :>)

That would be nice with a long line of fence line feeders . A guy could stay on the dry side of the fence .

It used to be that way here but now you can live next door to someone and not know their name for years. I have one neighbor that has lived across the road from us for 8 years and he hasent even said hello once. I spoke to him once but got no responce. If that is the way he wants it Ok with me.

Whats yer plans for that pile? You going to leave it like that, or cover it until you need it.

Ive never been around ground hay like that. A few fellas i know that feed ground hay put the rolls in the grinder and then drive along the feeders to feed it.

Yeah fer sure,

Guess that was kinda my mistake. If I'd known better, (didn't realize that his machine could gobble hay like that) I would have told him to stop at about 60 bales.

Thing was tho, he had to travel 'bout 35 miles, so guess it's okay from that standpoint. Just hope I don't have the snow problems I've run into in the past. :>(

We're gonna jump on old snort in the next day or two and bring the remaining cows in off the grass.

Will start feeding 'em free choice with a couple of 20' feed wagons and I'm hoping that pile will last 'til sometime after the 1st of the year.

No, I'm not gonna cover it.

i don't understand, around here everone stacks the round bails, then use a tractor and put one or two in a round bail feeder,(looks like a small round tube fence) or uses a bail unroller either on tractor or a dewezy bed on a pickup truck and just unrolls a bail ontot he ground, why grind it up in one big pile where the cows can stomp and crap all in it.
