dd On Power Steering

I have a problem. I want to put a power steering system on my 1958 841 powermaster and it has a loader on it. I have found a number of kits but they all say they wont fit on the tractor if it has a front end loader. The reason i need the power steering is because of the loader. Should I laugh or cry? Does anyone know of or have a cylinder with a pilot control valve that can be installed in such a manner that it will run off the hydraulic that is already on the tractor, either the front mount or the lift system? I sure hope someone out there can help me out. I'm just a poor farmer trying to scratch out a living with what I can. Typical story. Thanks, LarryT

We had a farmhand F10 loader on the following tractors and no power steering. TE20 and TO30 Ferguson, Cockshutt 30 and an M Farmall. No poweer steering or live pto pump except for the Cockshutt had live pto. Grew up with it so really didnt miss it. Used an AC D17 with loader and ps but wasnt impressed. A good ps unit does make alot of differnce. Good luck and have fun.

Start looking at parts yards for a tractor that had the factory setup on and get the whole works. But first raise the front end up and drop the spindles and you probably will find that they lack lubrication and then when you get the spindle droped buy new thrust bearings for the bottom of the spindle that carry the weight of the tractor, slightley worn bearings will not roll but slide (have found bearings with the rollers comepetly flat on the bottom side and would not roll at all anymore, think that is what you have). After putting in the new bearings and greasing things up good as you assemble (they do not grease as should from the zerk) you will think you have gotten power steering.
