helping my neighbor today, putting a shredder on one of his 4020's. 1000 pto. went to switch the shafts from the 540 to the 1000, the 1000 pto bottoms out before it is in all the way. needs about another 3/16 to 1/4 inch to get the snap ring on but it will not go in any further. pto is fully disengaged. tried rotating the shaft to all diferent positions, still no go. tried the shaft out of the other 4020, same thing. 2 years ago this tractor broke the internals on the pto running an auger and the dealer rebuilt the rear end and pto. is it possible something isnt shimmed right? 540 pto slides right in perfect. any ideas???
