Finished the beans today. Overall beans were respectable yield wise. One 40 acre field made a 62 bushel average. But a 25 acre field had a lot of Sudden Death and only made 38. Over all about a 52 bushel average.

Combine held together without a breakdown.

I'm all done with beans but for a 70 acre field I replanted after the hail. They need 10 days of hot windy weather or a killing frost.

Looking good Gary. We just finished ours today as well and average yield is very similar...don't have a monitor so can't tell you for certain what it was. The 1460 is giving us fits right now...broke two sets of feed fingers on the head auger (can't keep the rocks out of there, I guess). I had to replace the feeder/separator clutch valve as it must be jammed cause it nearly burnt the wire off. Now the control valve filter is leaking...there's another $350.

Gary,

Glad you are finished and had what this old boy would call "outstanding" yields. Don't forget, I haven't been around bean harvest for about as many years as you've been alive.

Stan

Stan I started a week ago Monday on beans. Ran everyday till yesterday. 11 days straight of beans with no rain delays.

I've been at this farming game for 36 years now and this is the first time for no rain delays during bean combining.

Glad ya finished!

We'll finish our on Sat.Had a few minor break-downs,but up & running again.

Harvest here in western Ohio has been the same. No rain to measure for the last 2 months. Feilds are very dry. No limit on the trucks in the fields. Even saw a semi alongside a combine unloading on the go. I tried to plow some wheat stubble, but too dry and hard. Will wait till we get some rain... Gene

Its always nice to get done with soybeans. The number ahead of the decimal point is illegible. Wheres the picture of the monitor in the poor part of the field? ours averaged 51, if we had a monitor someplaces it would have showed 70/bu a and along the waterways 10/bu a. The total average is the only thing that means anything, most of the liars with monitors around here see a high number and that becomes the actual yield.

Good for you! We (the people I harvest with)might wrap it up today. My beans here in NW Iowa averaged 50 overall for three fields, 87 acres, 129 acres, and 66 acres. Didn't matter if they looked good or bad, what the soil type was, no-till or conventional, each individual field did 50, no more, no less! The last field was 24 acres and used to be the one that got the most manure and it has no drown-out. It did 58. Jim

Won't be much happening around here for the next week as we received 4.5 inches of rain in the last eight days. I see a couple fields around done but would guess over 90 percent remain. Only corn out is for silage or a little high moisture. A couple of guys over in Ontario County are mudding out cabbage but that ground will handle the compaction better than our clay-based soils
We are hoping for mid to high forties for bean yields which is near to average for the area.

We finished up last Tuesday, High feild avg 67, low feild avg 32, havent got the total acreage average as I have beans that need to be weighed in boxes yet. I definatly am happy with the genuity beans i planted this year, was well worth the extra $10 bag. Low yeild feild was mostly ue to me and a new drill that I had trouble setting and had a few bad metering wheels, pop was way to low. Now for corn!

Were seein the light at the end of the tunnel. We have about 200 acres of beans left and about the same with corn. Wont take long with a 12 row head and 40 foot platform. 5 guys around us have burned up there combines with all this dry weather here. I started diskin some stalks for wheat today and boy you talk about the dust flyin. I couldnt even hardly see the disk behind the tractor.
