I decided to goof off today and go to the pull. They were at Sunnycrest Orchards in Sharon Spa NY where the Spring tractor show is held. They were also holding their garlic fest and craft show, this weekend. The wife is a crafter and does all their shows. The upper pulling track is away from the greenhouses so there were no conflicts with noise and dust. This was a two day event with a lot of tractors. Classes started with 8HP and ranged up to ?? in the gardentractor classes and then there were the Mini Mods, Snowmobile engines to small block V8s with lots of high tech 4 bangers.

ACG, looks like you folks had great weather for it and it just goes to show you real American ingenuity! I like the snowmobile setup because around here that would be the only time they"d get used. If I had more spare time I might try that sport! CT
 
I would like to see some compact utility diesel tractors set up for pull'in. Say tractors originally in the 40hp range, with turbo chargers, bigger pumps and injectors, putting out 200hp!
 
I agree Lumpy but trying to get parts for some of those suckers since they seem to get discontinued after a couple years and most are made either in India,Japan or wherever and are metric which is usually a problem for some people. I thought about doing that to my AC5020 but most all of those foreign engines are dry sleeve or throwaways so you need spare blocks.
 
Looks pretty neat. Seems odd that helmets and proper safety gear aren't mandatory. I realize they're small tractors but people have been injured doing much less. Dave
