Interesting coincidence???

A nearby farmer whom I've known since we were kids began having health problems maybe five years ago. Can't really call him a good friend, he was just a guy to say, "Hi" to whenever our paths crossed.

The last time we saw him was a year or two ago. He was then in a motorized wheel chair, and I hadn't really given him any thought since.

For some reason, the day before yesterday I mentioned to my wife that we hadn't seen Jim W. around for a while. She agreed and mentioned again the wheelchair.

We found out yesterday that he died the day before yesterday.

Strange coincidence?

What part of the coincidence would be strange? If the neighbor had been in a hospital or nursing facility before he died, wouldn't it be likely that, not knowing he was there, you wouldn't see him around town?

I guess I'm trying to understand how what occurred is strange OR a coincidence, and I'm drawing a blank. If you don't see someone around for awhile, it doesn't seem strange to me that you'd ask about him. And if he'd recently been in bad health, I don't find it strange that you wouldn't see him around, OR that he would die without telling you...especially since you said he was more-or-less just a "speaking acquaintance," and not a good friend.

But then, that's just how MY mind works. Maybe someone else will find it a strange coincidence, too...but I don't, from the information you've posted.

A lot of people claim to have premonitions about things like that or just a feeling something has happened. Dave

My son had a nightmare that his sister had died. Two weeks later she did pass on,very unexpectedly. She died from a surgical mistake. I was in Kansas on the wheat harvest, not planning to come home for the surgery as it was a very common, non-life threatining procedure. Three days before the surgery I had the very strong feeling that I should be home for my daughter so I did indeed come home and I'm glad I did. Was someone or something warning my son and me or was it coincidence? I still don't know the answer. Jim

A cousin of mine died following back surgury at age 63. The operation went well, but they lost her in the recovery process afterward.

She emailed me about it a couple of days before the operation, and ended the email with, "Pray for me".

From the tone of the email and the way she ended it, I've always wondered if she didn't have a promontion.

This gets deeper. Before I met my wife of 45 years, I was briefly engaged to a young lady I'll call Charlotte. After we became engaged, it became painfully obvious that she simply wasn't ready for marriage. We called it off amicably and eventually went our separate ways.

She ended up in Memphis, and I wound up in Nebraska, but I got enough through the grapevine over the years to know she never had married. Then one night she appeared to me in a dream. There was no big scene, but I recall she gave me a hug and said, "Goodbye". I wondered about it for a few days and spaced it off, but the date stuck in my mind, August 15, 1993. Sometime later, thanks to the Internet, I learned for a fact she died--August 15, 1993.

It gets deeper yet. Charlotte always wore a very distinctive perfume. About a dozen times over the years, at random times and in diverse locations, I've unexpectedly gotten a whiff of that same perfume. Is her spirit following me around? It's an interesting, but not uncomfortable, thought.

BTW, our daughter knows the story, my wife does not.

The night my youngest Daughter unexpectedly passed away I was offshore working, for some reason, around 4 a.m., I had an overwhelming urge to hit my knees and ask God to take care of her. It was very much like a dream and I did not have any idea why I was compelled to do it, the strangest thing is that I was not worried and it never occurred to me that something had happened to her. I got the word around 7 a.m. that morning but I am sure I know what time she passed over.

I was out of state in college and woke up early one morning thinking I needed to see one of my older aunt to get some information about the family history. My thought was that I had better do it soom because Aunt Frances was quite old. I went back to sleep and was sleeping well.
Phone rang in dormitory hall. My sister told me that Aunt Frances had died. My answer was "Yes, I know" my sister asked how did I know.

Is it posible that we have another sense that has not been discovered?

I for one am a firm believer in prenominations I think those of us that don"t have our nose buried in texting and video games and have the sense of smell and memories to connect to others either in the present and the past have that god given talent to do so and I won"t be convinced otherwise because I for one have done the same.God bless!!

In 1983, I woke up one morning and decided I was not going to work, something I never did, unless I was real sick. I rolled over and spent another 2 hours or so sleeping. A short while later a friend knocked on my door, to tell me that my Mother had passed away unexpectedly that morning. I counted back the time, and my decision to skip work was before the time she died. I believe in premonitions and gut feelings.

A couple of months ago grandpa passed away. I stopped in the hospital to see him but he was sleeping but instead of just leaving like usual I had the urge to just sit there with him and wanted to wake him up but figured he needed the sleep more than he needed to see me. He passed away that night. Wish I had woke him now, but glad I just sat there with him for some reason too.
