Repairing rubber tracks

I got a buddy with a CAT skid loader with the rubber tracks on it. It has rubber tracks on it but one track has a big cut in the side and it"s slowly cracking its way across.

Anybody ever tried to repair a rubber track? Is there a kit or somebody that can do this? Or does the repair last if you do it?

I haven"t priced replacing the track yet but I know him well enough to know he"d get annoyed if I did that for him. But a repair I think he"d be okay with. Thanks!

Pretty much anything you try to do is going to be all but worthless short of replacing it. Check out the link to Heartland Publication"s site. Once there look at the link to the parts Connection and possibly some of the others also for places that carry aftermarket tracks alot cheaper than going back to the OEM.

There is a repair for some ASV/Cat tracks, but its for the drive lugs, Google Larrylugs. Not sure there is a cure for an across the track crack.
