used 60hp tractors with creeper gear or hydrostat

I've been searching online for lists of tractors that were built with creeper gears or hydrostatic transmissions for a long time now. I'm getting ready to purchase a tractor for transplanting vegetables. It must be able to move at less than 1mph. I can't afford to buy new, and would ideally find a good tractor for under $10,000. It seems at this point that I'm limited old IH hydros, case 94 series(1194, 1294, 1394), deutz 8006's, and maybe kubota 6040's. are there other tractors that came with a standard creeper gearing out of the factory, before the 80's? Wet clutch allis's and over under olivers don't get there. Not sure about select-o-matic fords, and I've been warned to stay away from those anyhow.

The Massey 135 diesel 8 speed will go slow enough to do your job. My neighbour has a strawberry transplanter on his.

I have a Farmtrac 70 with the 12X12 trans. Low range, first gear is 0.86 mph. Likely at half throttle it is less than a half mph. It is a 2003, same engine etc as the 4610 Ford/ New Holland, only 3 or 400 hrs and for sale a lot under 10.

Have a MF 180, three speed transmission, Hi-low transmission, and Hi-low multi power. With everything set low as it will go, sure does crawl!

Used to transplant cabbage with an AC WD45D, just slipped the oil bath hand clutch for hours at a time! Never hurt it, just took a steady hand to maintain the right amount of slip! You had to go a lot slower transplanting cabbage as opposed to strawberries. We used to space strawberries at 18" +/- and tried for 10-12" on cabbage!

Why would you need 60 HP if you are only going 1 MPH ? seems with that low of gearing it would hardly need any HP.

JD 2440 with the 16 speed may get that low. I know I never use any of the slow gears!!! 4 gears plus 2 ranges plus hi/low TA.

I'll be using the tractor for everything from cultivating with a 2 row buffalo ridge till cultivator, running a 5' rototiller at depth, and many other things, including pulling a 3pt, 3 row waterwheel transplanter, which will plant 3 rows of 6" onions. This also has 160 gallons of water in its tanks. Needs to be heavy enough for both, but geared for transplanting.

Im not sure which all models of Fords have the 12x3 transmission or how slow they go but its very slow. I've got a 7610 orchard/low profile model. Its got the 12x3 which is the regular 8 speed with an extra low range giving 4 creeper forward and 1 creeper reverse. Id speculate that there are 5610 orchard tractors which have it to but I dont know that.

I have a White 2-75 (75hp) I believe all the 2-75's (they are an iseki with an isuzu engine branded and sold as a White in the late 80s) have the 4speed with high/low and another high/low for 16 forward/4 reverse - I have really come to like the creeper gears for a variety of things - I can make it snort going through 8' deep snowdrifts 8' wide - first gear reverse - never have to step on the clutch.

backing 4 wheel wagons into shed, just a lot of things.....

What I'm currently using is a jd 5320. I cannot afford to buy this one. It has met my needs. As such, I'd think 5500# or so would suffice. I'd like a loader, but it wouldn't be required for this. I have some slight hills, but nothing too substantial. I also may be looking of skinny vegetable tires, not the larger ones, but again, I'm not too fussy there. I'd mostly be using it in spring, summer, and fall.

That's true. I used to transplant with an MF 285 and an MF 180. Both tractors were more than slow enough for myself and my help. My brother used to plant a double row of tomatoes by himself on that transplanter hooked behind the 180. Just to give you an idea of the setup it was a single row water wheel transplanter that I rigged up to carry two 12inch spacing planter wheels. Basically the 180 was running slow enough so that my brother could place two plants every 12 inches.

Do you need 1 mph at rated speed or can you idle along? I'd have to work the numbers through but I'd think that a Ford 4000/4600/4610/4630 could be gotten there at mid throttle with an 8 speed and 28" rubber. If you stay with 30" or larger tires then probably not...
I'm not sure if they had creepers available for them or not. They did have creepers available for the 5610 and up but that required a main shaft change to install and the creeper set through whole goods was more than your alotted budget...
