Removed crank and welded nut to shaft. Also put a mirror on trailer. Both work well!

I like both ideas. Will do the mirror thing, but can't do the other, because Mrs. goes up in the mountains with her horses, and needs a crank when no access to a cordless drill. Besides, the exercise is good for her.

There's a lot of neat ideas on that trailer.

That spare looks like it's wedged in there pretty tight. . .

Good ideas.

If you don't mind, details on the spare please. How is it held there?? I'm in the process of building a spare tire mount but didn't want it mounted in any of the usual places. Need to do the mirror thing but I think I want mine removable, post and pin type of thing. I hook up my own 16' and it's off and on the truck at least 3 times. Good ideas.

I drilled 2 holes and ran long bolts to line up with the rim. Also drilled a hole in the bolt and put a padlock on it.
