A few shots of the major flooding here in Owatonna. All said and done,we got 8.5 inches in about 16 hrs.

Over 70 homes were evacuated,National Guard was called in and Red Cross set up base.No injuries so far.1/3 of homes in Owatonna lost power this am at 8:00 due to power plant flooding.Wide spread damage to homes from water and foundations falling in.Most county roads and highways were closed due to water or roads washed away.

No fieldwork getting done anytime soon.

We have some flooding here, but nothing to compare to that! WI, MN, IA, maybe IL and MI could use a few weeks or a month of DRY!

I understand it is pretty grim from Pipestone (SD border) to Owatonna and a bit beyond (getting close to Wisconsin.

The little towns along the way just don't get the media coverage. There are county & township roads under or washed away all over. To say nothing of the crops.

I'm on the northern part of the damage, while harvest will be a lot tougher, I got nothing like so many will have to deal with.

Owatanna has a really nice spring farm show at the fairgrounds every year, I've been to 5 of the last 6. Nice town you have over there, hope it recovers well from this. Lot of water has to pass through the middle of town. The news at noon was showing an airboat that got caught by a power substation, just devistating currents from all that water.

Wow... I saw quite a few school delays and closings on WCCO tv thismorning. Now I see why. Pics do not look to good. I know it rained all night long at work lastnight. I only have 2 1/2 inches in my rain gauge(near Bemidji MN), but that is still plenty. Very windy now... Hope you are doing well there. SHON

Thanks Nancy!

We're OK.All I can say is I'm glad we didn't lose power out in the country. The sump pump was running every 30 seconds to keep up and septic alarm came on a few times from rain run-off.

Had a few leaks in the roof I didn't know were there, but no real damage. We were REAL lucky.:>

I feel really bad when I see things like this. Times are hard enough without nature slapping us around also. I am really glad I live where I do. No hurricanes, no tornados, no earth quakes,no floods(just enough rain to pretty things up in the summer time), no blizzards, no ice storms.None of the severe weather stuff. Prayers go out to all who are suffering.

I hate to see stuff like this. Not much you can do with too much water, you can't pile it up like snow.

Your in our prayers, try to keep good thoughts.
