OT/for you Michigan guys

This is a glancing blow at politics,so if you don't want to read it,quit now.
Are any of you as anxious to stay home on November 2 as I am? I can't even imagine voting for anybody on the state ballot. I thought I'd know who Snyder is by now,but I guess he's just trying to ride this out and hope he doesn't loose any ground. I looked up the Libertarian candidate and he's just some nobody perpetual candidate.
Our candidate for the open State Senate seat is a good friend of mine, but she literally stole the nomination with an ugly backroom deal when the spot should have gone to the other candidate who actually ran in the primary against Calley, the candidate for Lt Governor. I don't know if any of you have ever talked to that guy or not,but if you have, you're probably as scared of the prospect of him being that close to the Governors office as I am.
What a bunch of CRAP! We really had an opportunity this year, but that's all out the window.
Pardon the rant. It was this or a letter to the editor.

I sometimes find myself voting FOR a candidate only because I am voting AGAINST his or her opponent(s). He or she may not be what I really want, but I know I REALLY, REALLY don't want what the opposition is proposing.

Exactly. I'm just getting SO tired of voting AGAINST candidates instead of FOR them. This time around,I want to vote against ALL of them, but even the third parties don't have anybody that I can vote for in good concience.
About all I can do is vote for the guy running for State House, and that's mostly to get rid of the sleeze merchant who holds the seat now. I guess, just mark the one candidate on the ballot and leave the rest blank.

Just my thoughts. I dont like either one of the guys they are trying to force on to us, but to stay home and not vote is not the answer. There is a proposal on the ballot that would toss out our state constitution and set up a "convention" to write a new one. This will put the little guys in Michigan in a deeper hole then we are now.Dont encourage any one to stay home from the polls.Instead fill your car up with neighbors and go vote one way or the other.People have died and are dying for your right to do this.My two cents. I hate politicians cause they are so full of schitt. But I have never (and will never) vote for any dumocrat in any position. Unless they change into a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-freedom party.

Staying home is not the answer. If you dont like the candidates for a certain spot then vote for the other spots. I have always voted in all the elections since 1988, every 2 years.

Too bad we don't have a good candidate from either party to run for Governor. Everybody knows just how bad the economy is in our state,..and the future doesn't look too bright either. No quick turn around for Michigan. It will take years to get us back on track if ever.
Despite all this I will still vote because it is my right to do so,..and being a Veteran,..I earned it. All we can do is hope things will get better over time. Maybe enough changes in the State Congress with new faces will help over time.
Michigan doesn't have much to offer in the way of jobs or leadership,..but we do have one thing everybody needs no matter what,.."FRESH WATER" and lots of it. I see water being a big issue down the line,..so keep that ammo stocked up.

Our district is pretty lucky. Got a state representative that has been given high honors by small business. If there's anything we need here it's more jobs created by small businesses, not by government. One of the candidates for state senator has a very conservative track record as a former state representative and has my support. The other candidate is pretty so-so. That's the positive part. I know there is a lot of mud thrown by both sides on the governor race, but we sure can't stand any more paralyzed government like we've had for the last 8 years. This state will never be what it was, and I'm tired of seeing the best of our young kids leave for jobs elsewhere. Free lunch time financed by the automotive industry is over, a much smaller, more conservative, realistic government is our only hope for the future. Just my rant and my opinion.

State representative candidate is a friend of mine also. Sure am not impressed with incumbent. Guess I won't have trouble here. But you're right, not impressive slate of candidates....

Yea,I don't have to hold my nose to vote for the State Rep candidate, but I've never been so disapointed with a candidate as I am with Judy. That nomination should have gone to Trebish. He got a lot of votes in the primary. If Judy wanted the nomination she should have run for it instead of leading Brian around like a prize calf. I told my cousin this morning,I hope nothing ever falls off my truck in front of her. If she wants it,she'll take it for herself. The only thing she proved with this stunt is that she knows how to make backroom deals to benefit herself.

I, too, am underwhelmed by the candidates. It looks like Snyder will be able to buy the governorship, although I'm not sure why he wants it.

My very, very, nnalert neighbors really don't like Snyder. Anybody from A2 is considered a commie.

All candidates run for themselves. Always end up picking the lesser of two evils, or voting for some one I don't know just to try to block the other person running.

If you want to see a complete fiasco, read up on the mayors for Detroit and Flint. Makes me happy I live in the sticks.

But we had the same pi**ing match of recalls in my township last year. What a joke these people are. They ask if they can put signs in my yard. Always tell them no, unless they are the real heavy metal framed style, sign stays until they leave the driveway, then out it comes. The heavy frames make great portable pistol target, just tape a new target on it.

Don"t feel bad I have to pick the lesser of two evils too here in Iowa this year. It happens and we need to get the direct appointment of senators back.

Gun;

I'll NEVER vote for a nnalert either. Not since All the nnalert stood lockstep with Clinton lying under oath. Colbert made a mockery of the legislative process, not to mention the nnalert wasting thousands so they could watch his skit. Washington just doesn't care.

I'm not thrilled with either candidate for Governor either. Where are all the good guys? I sure wouldn't want the job. Michigan needs to find something other than the auto industry. I don't think it will ever come back. Government Motors is being forced to build "green" cars that no one wants or can afford. They need to offer a tax credit, which we all pay for, to sell them.

It may not work but, why not run some meetings and ads. get people to write in names of who they want in office> that should tell someone that they aren"t wanted.
