Hows your harvest?

We started shelling corn yesterday this first field was drowned out by cold wet weather and replanted so the yeild has been disappointing. I broke a shaft for the header drive this morning, so I am at a stand still until the parts come in. On the bright side, the rest of the corn looks fair to good and the beans are begining to turn. How are the rest of you fairing?

Beans are ready but the rains are here.

Anxious to see what they're like when it drys up.

Illnois paper said today that 38% of the corn is out here but not many beans. Corns running from 100-200 BPA depending on how many "WET" spots.

Maybe billonthefarm or Wrigley can chime in.

PS-Bill: Wanna play shortstop for the Cubs if farming isn't exciting enough?

Just came in, elevator is closed and truck and cart are full! Early to mid beans are done or almost done around here. Been doing early corn and can"t believe it"s 16-17.5% already. Here"s a pic, doesn"t usually happen this way, so I stepped out to take a pic.

Yields have real poor corn is at 14%,but most is out of the fields. Most beans have turned and being gobbled up quick. My combine has been down for a week.Ran it today and its still not unloading right.

tennessee our corn is shelled, wheat sowed and we are in Galup New Mexico toningt for a 10 day trip out west..O yea did not have any soy beans so this year is down hill.

Central NE. Started on some irr. corn and it was 20% and good yields so far. On a dryland patch now and not too bad and 16% on the hills. Most of the corn is in the 25% range from the ears that I have pulled but drying nicely. Neighbors starting on beans.......high humidity after a sprinkle parked them for a couple of days. We will soon switch to beans, too.

Weve been shellin since the day after labor day. Weve not had very much rain here in southern In since June. The corn is plenty dry and the yields have been a lot better than I had thought. My best ground that normaly goes 200+ did around a 165 average but some of my poor ground has been in the 120 to 130 range. I started in a field today(till the combine broke down)that was only runnin about a 100 and the kernels looked like pop corn kernels. We have only cut a very few beans and what beans are there are like bb-s and the stems are green and tuff in spots. Were gettin along really well with very few minor brake downs or problems with the help.

Lots of rain here, just got another blast last night.Virtually nobody has any harvesting done with the exception of some early beans in an area to the South of me.Most bean fields(including ours) are still yellow with leaves.

Depending on the weather, this weekend should be getting the ball rollin' pro'ly on corn before beans.I'll get working on getting the combines ready this weekend and take it from there.

We started September 4th on corn and we need one more good day to wrap it up. No beans that will cut yet as very very few in the area are ready. Yields have ranged from very good to very bad but alot more good than bad. I am hearing alot of variation from other guys as well. The corn has been very dry for this time of the year and field conditions have been excellent with firm footing and the corn standing perfect. We are getting rain now so we will have to sit for a couple of days and let it dry out. Looking forward to getting the corn out and getting ready for beans and not have to worry about switching back and forth for a change.

On a lighter note, I caught wrigley hard at work the other day. So, if you are wondering how he spends his days, well, sometimes he guards the calves in the feedlot. Right now he is sleeping on the kitchen floor, he had a busy day!!

Here in NE Iowa I started on 99 day corn, coming out at 20-21% and 180-200bu. acre. Some beans are out if they where in early, mine are ready to go, but the weather won't cooperate with my work schedule. I was able to do some corn today before the rain, but overcast all day, kind of like that for the last week with moments of sun shine

1st feild did not break a hundred bu per acre ,, Last yr. it raised me close to 175 Bu .. We looked good here until Agust , ThoseDAILY 95+temps and no rain murdered the corn crop in our area,, However , I do have a 5 acre field next to a MEGA Farmer( who is devils advocate) that looks to go 150 buper acre ..

my beans were out a couple weeks ago. ran 54 bu/ac avg. down from 63-65 the past years. some corn is already out, running 184 bu/ac avg, down from 200. seems like everybody in my area is getting yields about 15 bu below normal for both corn and beans.

4 foals, 15 puppies, a few kittens, and 2 litters of puppies due to be ready in time for Christmas. Not bad on this side.

Don't know how yield are as no longer farming but yesterday on neighboring farm I used to farm he burned up his 7720 John Deere in the bean field. Took some standing beans. Don't know facts but when I found out about it I drove past and at least 3 fire trucks and 1 ambulance setting there as well as a dozen of the voulenteers own transportation.

One pulled a wagon for some small fields one day. Made that diesel smoke some when it had 15,000# to pull!
