9n won't stay running

I am new with tractor and my ford 9n will run around 7 to 10 minuets and just quit like you turned off the switch. I have replayed the coil, points, condenser, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Help please!

Try bypassing the key switch. Sometimes when the ignitions switch gets hot it will act like that.

Gas cap not venting?

I'll bet it has an inline gas filter doesn't it? It's not supposed to have. Take it out and splice the line together and see what happens.

To tell whether it is a fuel or spark problem -- next time it stops, pull a spark plug wire and connect it to an old spark plug. Ground the plug on the manifold , and with the tractor in neutral, turn the key on, crank it and observe the spark. If you have good spark, remove the plug from the bottom of the carb. Should fill up a pint container in about a minute, Should not dribble out.
