Sprayer Question

I posted this on Friday but evidently the moderator must have thought it was a post about a hand gun and not a pesticide gun for a crop sprayer. Has anyone tried to use a spray gun with a four roller pump? The one in question comes from Northern Tool its a turbo spray gun. Rated for 250 PSI. I was wondering if it would even work with a roller pump.

Hummmm, I thought a roller pump had lots of pressure. In fact I thought if you shut off the nozzle, something would give, either busted hose or belt slip, engine stall. Maybe I'm wrong.

An ag-use 4-roller pump will proabably pump 5-8 gpm with around 150 maximum psi. Some high end roller pumps might pump 350 psi. A piston pump will make lots more pressure.

Ron, afraid you are wrong on this one. Roller pumps put out lots of pressure, but not that much volume. Centrifigal pumps are the opposite.

I think a 4 roller, ag pump on a 540 PTO is capable of 120 psi.

Your rolller pump more than likely will not go to 250 psi but should get to 100-125 psi. Just make sure you have a relief valve in the pressure side.
