i've got a 1942 wc allis, still in her work clothes yet, someone told me it has the wrong seat on it. the seat it has,(sorry no picture yet) has a small steel channel at the bottom where it bolts to the tractor. at the front of the steel channel it has the pivot arm that slants up to where the seat is attatched to. on the bottom of the seat it has a coil spring & at the rear it has a shock absorber. the one that i've been told belongs on it is suppose to be on spring steel with a back rest on the seat. is their a early style/late style seat or what is supposed to be on mine?

Sounds like a Monroe easy rider seat. Monroe made lots of these replacement seats for lots of different tractors.

If indeed it is the Monroe easy rider, I would leave it there and be happy. The Monroe seat gives a much better ride than anything else from that period.
