Got a dab of rain last night and it looks like maybe the wheat might actually come up.

Great pics, Thanks! I used to stay at my Uncle's farm in western Minn when I was a kid. (mid to late 60's) He didn't grow winter wheat, but did some Rye which was planted in the fall. The rest was done in the spring. He used a 14' IH drill then. How big is yours? I know now most everything is very big, but I like your style equipment the best.

This drill belongs to my buddy up the road.

He's 90 years old and mentioned a few weeks back that his drill needed the points replaced. That he can't get under the rascal 'cause he can't get back up again. :>)

I told him, "Well heck, I can replace those points for ya if.................". :>)

It's 24 feet wide. Really a nice planter. Doesn't ever set outside and it shows.

He married those two 12' units together with his V-rake hitch that he built years ago with 6" well pipe and two #8 John Deere mower crazy wheels.

Only thing is, ya have to lift the inside planter a bit on a square corner to keep from bending the shanks 'cause it will slide sideways during the turn.

My favorites are persian orange, but I gotta say, you got some nice red stuff-even the borrowed ones! Greg

Heck those are the same drills I'm using except I'm pulling a 14' with my 756. Going to finish it up tomorrow. What variety do you plant. I plant Pronghorn and have very good luck with it. Had right at 70 bu. last year and 55 this year. Try and get a photo of my setup if I remember. Dan

Oh heck, Dan,

I'm still stuck in the Jagelene mode. Gotta run over to Cullins today for another load of seed. Maybe we should give that Pronghorn a try. Have heard really good things about it.

3 years ago, I was over in your neighborhood, 'bout a mile or so north of town at a farm sale.

They had one of these tandem 150 setups there and I think it only broght something like $3500?

Should have bought the darned thing! :>(

My brother finished our place last weekend and I about finished my bosses stuff. He had a set of 24' Jd 9300's no trouble at all and then those @#$%@$^$@%$@%$ IH's at another plase. The chain off the press wheels liked to jump off but in the drills defense it should be a parts drill not still being used.

The drills you might be talking about was at my in-laws the sale where you bought the your three wheeler. If they are, they were IH 150 2 x 12' tandem x 10" spacing. Nice set of drills but you missed out on a good deal because they brought like $1200.00.
I think you would really like the Pronghorn, Cullans are sold out of it now. Dan

Oh, fer Gawd's sake.

$1200? Now I do feel foolish.

A set of points and the little bolts just cost my neighbor $700 over in Alliance. He said that if ya wanted the "eagle beak" points that they were now $30 apiece.

I sure missed the boat on that drill. :>(
