Anybody running a JD 3200 plow?

I was wondering how the clearance is on a JD 3200 plow, can I plow cornstalks down without chopping? Also does it do a level job of covering? And do the bottoms keep tripping when in hard ground like when plowing headlands?
Thanks

I don't know how the 3200 compares to a 2800 but I like my 2800. I do not chop my stalks and I did not think you could ever plug that plow but in last years 200 plus corn it did plug once in a while. Also the bottoms do trip on hard headlands. I do not know what you mean by "level job of covering"

Some plows turn the ground over and do a nice job of covering and a nice smooth look to it. Some plows throw up the slabs and you can see every furrow row and looks rougher. Also do you know the distance from the tip of the plow share to the bottom of the main frame. IH 720 is 32 in.

Ok, now I get it. John Deere plows never did cover as well as IH. Mine is no exception. My 2800 is a vari-width and if I plow set at 16" it is not to bad but in some of my lighter ground when I open it up to 20" pretty rough. In the black gumbo ground it stands the slabs up on end and looks terrible. I'm having a sandwitch now. When i'm done I will go measure the clearance and report back to you.

Hi Dave. 33" Also when I bought my Deere plow I was cansidering a 588 White and I know the measurement was the same as the Deere so aparently 33 as well. The White and Oliver plows were always known to pull easier then other plows. I don't know why that is but also when you look at used plows many of the Whites are busted and welded and you will never see welding on a 2800 Deere plow.

Thanks guys for the info. I ran across a JD 3600 plow which is supposed to be the same as a 2800 but only in a trailer type/onland plow. I'm looking for a 6 bottom and this plow might fill the bill. Didn't JD have a couple different moldboard options for their plows? Seems to me they did and maybe a different style moldboard would lay the ground over better???
