I recently tried to post a tractor on ebay, been a while since the last one i sold. Before it would post it said i needed to put a credit card on file as a part of there buyer protection plan.If they wanted to give a refund to a buyer or a charge back they were going to charge it to my card without my permission.I don't give refunds on tractors and i'm not going to trust them with my credit card.I don't like the idea of them having control over my creit card and being able to decide if i should refund money without my consent. How do you guys do it? Thanks.

Ray, i've never had to do that when listing, don't know what that would be all about unless they made some new rules. You might want to call and ask them, there is a number you can get by going into the help area.

I hate ebay"s constant rule changing. They used to end my listings because I stated "like new", which wasnt allowed. Now, when listing something you have to state the condition. One of the options for the condition is "like new". Go figure...and of course you cant take checks or money orders....

That one reason I no long sell on e bay, I'm with you I would never let them have control of a credit card. Its part of there attempt to make buying on e bay like buying at Wal-Mart were you can get a refund no matter what the cockamamie reason.

They are trying to make everyone use their PayPal and pay their outrageous fees. Also part of their buyer protection plan. I have never sold thru them because they keep changing their rules. I have used Craigslist several times. Some problems is you get spammers more often and it can take longer to sell that e-bay.

I quit ebay about 3 years ago,,, its rare i even look at it unless something is posted on sites i read...
