really didnt expect to see what I saw today when I came in. Wow. $4.33 july 11 corn, I'll take it. May go higher but I aint waiting to get caught with my pants down hoping for that $5. What ever I can store is sold, I am gonna sell alot more for this fall at these prices. Nice

Yes. I am going to sell some more too. I have to be careful not to over sell as I got hailed out this summer. Some really bad so I am not sure what to expect for yield. To make matters worse, what corn did survive is now tipping over because of hail damage to stalk. They are forcasting 26 mph wind tomorrow so I think that will really take its toll on my corn. Neighbor in similar situation is going to start harvest next week as he thinks it is better to take 30% corn than have it all tip over. I just don't know what to do. Oh, I'm in so. central Mn.

Sorry to hear you got the hail.

Neighbor who is big in dairy took about 9 acres of my corn as silage yesterday, he said my corn looks really good. It's a lot greener than the others around, planted the same week, but still seems to be filling the kernals. Was nice to hear my stuff looks good to a fella with a lot of manure...

It is finally denting well, so it is drying down.

Marketing, I just don't know what to do when prices rise before/during harvest - makes guessing very difficult. Typically drops now as bunkers fill up, if it goes up now who wants to sell, as it will keep going up... But buyers will slow down buying and then someday we will find corn yields aren't so terrible bad all over, sales are down, and we will have a lot of corn left over - so prices drop....

I donno. Odd situation, hard to out guess!

We have about 50% of our crop pre sold. We will be selling some more at these levels. We did some yield checks today and are feeling better about what our good corn will do. Now our replanted corn is another story! YUCK.

Wow, thats gotta be about the earliest I have ever heard of some one taking corn down in MN. Gee, taking her in at 30% this early seems like a real profit eater. I'm hoping to not even combine till its 15%.

Nice dollar bounce since summer!!! Can't be all wrong to sell some more now, it can sure drop in a hurry if the powers feel they are done pushing the prices up.

What part of MN are you in that corn would ever get to 15% in the field???? Once in my life I saw 16% on the elevator slip, wow. It's nice to see 19% here in southern MN, don't every year.

I say go for it, I know I am. Could be $3.00 by next week. It's interesting how prices go, Jul '11 at the ethanol plant nearby is $4.65. That's awesome. But then other times I hear how the prices are much higher other places. You just never know...

There's early corn around here that's under 20% already, all but unheard of.

How much corn do you have to sell. I am just curious, I dont buy corn. I used to for my pellet burner, I bought 2000 pounds one year that was dried and screened. I paid $7 per 100 weight. (not bad)

What is your bushels per acre?
