Dad on his John Deere B

I took this picture on the day I brought Dad's B back home after restoring it. Dad had called me and said a guy had offered him $75 for it and he was going to get rid of it. I told him it was the tractor I grew up with and that I would take it for that price. He said I could have it.

Dad wasn't feeling too good but he smiled alot when he saw it and I couldn't keep him off it. He passed away shortly after this.

I sure was glad I got it done when I did and can only guess the number of hours he spent on it. He thought it looked as good or better than it did in 1949.

Thanks for the picture, glad you did that. Dad's one new tractor was a 1948, E-3 Coop. He left us in 1981 and the Coop is in the local museme wearing the original, now faded orange paint.

Great tractor, good story.
Glad he got to sit on it one more time.

I was working on my Dad's 39 Allis "B" when he passed away. Wish he had gotten to use it one more time.

You people gotta quit parking them pretty red tractors under trees.....................

Good job. Guess it won't be for sale any time soon.

You did a really good job on the tractor; looks very nice.

Good that you were able to keep it in your family.

I'm sure your dad was very proud of you and all the work you did on his tractor.

Thanks for sharing your story and photo with us.

Grandpa passed away 2 weeks ago at the young age of 90. I wished now that I had gotten more work done on his 46 farmall M that he bought new and always used. Too late now but congrats on you getting it done for your dad to enjoy.
