I like to pick up local honey where ever I go. I have orange blossom honey from Florida, sourwood honey from North Carolina and some sage honey from Texas. If I visited your part of the world what would common and unusual might I find there?. Just curious (That's the cure for boredom)

Can't beat Indiana clover honey. Of course they will be working other things in the fencerows and anywhere else depending on the time of year. Can still remember the smell of my Grandpa's basement where he extracted honey of 100+ hives. Best smelling basement ever. We only have 4 hives, but it's enough honey for us and a few Christmas gifts for family.

In the central part of The Netherlands where I live we have "heide honing", that is heather honey. Has a very distinct flavor and smell. Lovely!

Western SC has tulip poplar honey. Tasty dark red color. If there is a good crop of vetch it makes a minty flavor light honey. In the middle and eastern part of the state they get tupelo gum honey, not sure I would recognize a tupelo gum tree. Mountains have sour wood honey.

Special? Blue Berry honey up here in Maine.

Most honey is a big mix though. We call is "Wild Flower".
