Bonehead stunt..........

Others on this forum have owned up to dumb stuff they've done, so I'll add my recent.

I hadn't been to my shop for a couple of weeks because of a two week go-around with a kidney stone that was finally blasted with ultrasound.

So yesterday's first objective was to get rid of some weeds and grass that had grown during my hiatus.

I climbed onto my D19 with the 3pt shredder attached, fired it up, put the tractor in gear with the two-way lever in neutral, shifted the PTO into gear, let out the clutch, and--nothing happened.

I sat there for several minutes trying to figure out what would keep the PTO from working when it dawned on me. One of the last things I did a couple of weeks ago was pull the PTO shaft off the tractor to see how another knuckle fit on the tractor, and then never put the PTO shaft back on the tractor.

Shredder runs a whole lot better with the PTO shaft attached to the tractor.

Two weeks of kidney stone pain. Ouch!

I would start on my list of blunders I did in the last two weeks but that would be a long post.

As my boss says "If you don't screw up, you're not doing anything."

I've had it done before, so I knew what to expect.

The worst part of it was after the stone was blasted, they put a stent between my left kidney and my bladder and left it in for two weeks while stuff healed. That's what irritates and incapacitates you. They took the stent out this last Wednesday, and I was back to normal within a day. Or whatever passes for normal on my account.

I have a long history of kidney stones, some I've passed normally and a couple of others were blasted with ultrasound.

Well, at least you hadn't disconnected the REAR end of the PTO shaft.

THAT would have made for some interesting noise!

I was standing in the water trying to push my boat off the trailer.Jack was standing on the dock watching. He finally said, you forgot to take the turn buckle off that holds the boat on the trailer.I did remember to close the drain.
