OT shoplifter runs over police officer

December of 2008 we had a gunman kill several people at Westroads Mall in Omaha. Yesterday, same mall, a shoplifter runs over a police officer, but gets shot herself. Sounds like the police response was IMMENSE! How many $$$ worth of stuff would it take to make you think running down a police officer-or any person for that matter-worth while? I guess I am just not made out to be a criminal....

A few months ago two local idiots killed a K-mart loss prevention officer when he tried to stop them from stealing a few hundred dollars worth of CDs. You do stupid things when you're a drug addict. Some poor schmuck making minimum wage gets killed because these dummies have to feed their drug habits.

While your opinion is shared by many, the law doesn't work that way. Human life is worth more than property. I do agree with the J Edgar Hoover approach, though. One of his agents was entering a bank to do some personal business just as a robber was fleeing the bank. The agent shot and wounded the robber. J Edgar Hoover ordered every agent to attend additional marksmanship training. There would be no more "wounding" of bank robbers.
