Rats-A-Frassin' Rake Teeth!

Could I possibly trouble someone to find the part number for the rake teeth on my IHC open gear side delivery rake/tedder? I just can't afford to buy every manual on ebay to find the right number. The two manuals I have so far only cover the quick-attachable curved teeth. I need the pain-in-the-rump straight toothed ones that you slide onto the pipe & whole boat load of them to boot.

Greatly Appreciated,
Mike

Can't help you with the numbers.
Was talking to my hometown CNH dealer on Monday.
I always ask what if anything he's selling.
He said a few new tractors/skidsteers keeping the doors open but nothing used was moving.
Shop doing ok and parts more than keeping the lights on. He did mention he was selling a lot of rake teeth.

My local CaseIH dealer lost their CNH contract two years ago. They have about a year left of CaseIH parts & then they're done with them completely. CaseIH didn't want to piddle around with a dealership that couldn't/wouldn't expand to include the large end of the equipment spectrum. In my neighborhood, there's no call for gigantic equipment, anymore. If the two local big guys weren't married to Mama Deere, my local CaseIH dealer might have stayed a float, but doubtful.

I would like to add that the dealership is in my family, albiet through my great uncle. I entertain the thought that Uncle Joe just couldn't bear the thought of his dealership of almost 90 years (70 of which he worked), getting dropped by CaseIH & passed. He was up there in years... & the diabetes did get the better of him, but I think that was the last straw. At least he has a greater dealership to look after, now.

Those teeth are no longer avaible and the newer teeth for the 4 bar are not avaible at most places but I have found where I can get those as the Amish that I deal with and have sold several of these rakes to have someone that makes them. But for what you are wanting I have loads of used ones here. I am in Ohio. Will open email if you are interested in contacting me.

That rake apears to have been made from around 1938 to 1949, the 4 bar from 39 to 60. Have an older one yet setting here that I think was made in early 20's and takes same teeth yet is made entirely different that what I think he has. I parted one of those out and moved back to the farm 2 of what I think he has. Only parts avaible would be from an Amish supplier.

You got to see it from the companie's perspective. Companies like Case, Deere, and Agco need delerships that are committed to selling their brand. Many dealers don't just carry one brand anymore they carry many brands that the big three have to compete with on price in the same store. These foriegn companies and shortlines erode pricing which a lot of times makes certain machines unprofitable to build anymore. When a dealer is in an area that caters more to rural lifestylers instead of professional farmers the rural lifestylers will go with the cheaper often but not always inferior equipment. A dealer who has these along side a name brand will often use the name brand as a price point to sell the easy stuff. What the big three want is a dealer who will promote their own product. If a dealer isn't willing to go out and work for sales then a manufacturer is going to need to take away the contract of that underperforming dealer so that they can give it to a dealer who proves year after year that they can deliver results. You'd do the same if you were in their shoes.
