851 ford diff==left wheel only

My 851 spins the left tire but not the right unless I hold the left brake on. Bothh brakes work, but diff seems t drive only one wheel. Any one know what's likley wrong?
 
That's why they call it a "differential".

If it drove both axles equally, you'd have one heck of a time getting around a corner.

Exactly..... Don't you have a lever or switch that kill lock the diff so bot pull?

Early Ford tractors such as the xx0 and xx1 series do not have differential locks.

Not a thing wrong with it. Your car or truck also does the exact same thing and unless you have posi=track or limited slip rear ends all cars/truck/tractors do that
 
nothing wromg with it but the left wheel doesnt get as good of a bite as the right otherwise they would take turns spinning
