O/T Pumpkins

I know this is off topic. Can any one tell me what kind of pumpkins those are that people raise out east that they hollow out and sit in, then paddle their way around in the water?? I've seen this on TV before over the years and would like to get a hold of some of these pumpkin seeds.
Thank you,
John B.

Hi John, I just returned from that town/community, Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada, where they have their annual "Regetta" paddling around the lake in pumpkins that have been cleaned out and made into a type of paddling boat in a race. the tractor club that I belong to , our club is in the same town. The seeds are called "Dills" giant pumpkin seeds. Howard Dill who lived in the town all his life, passed away anout 12 months ago. Over the period of many years however you do the magic thing to grow giant pumpkins, this is what Mr Dill accomplished. I believe most seed companies would know where to make the contact for the seed. Cheers, Murray

I've used Dill's Atlantic giant. I think you can get them at Gurney's seed company. I love to grow monster pumpkins. One year we even made the newspaper. Used a drop light to light the biggest jack o lantern in the neighborhood. Love to see em loom up out of the patch. Hmmm let's see pumpkins....Allis Chalmers....orange soda. I think I see a pattern here.
