Motor block paint (inside)

Just about tractor motor I have been into has the inside painted, a lot of race cars also do this. Now I am trying to find this paint. Every part house person thinks I am crazy. You are going to paint the inside of your motor, I could almost hear him laughing.I gave up looking. The reason I need this is to make sure a aluminum oil pan repair on my motorcycle doesn't seep. Any one have a source for this special paint. Stan

glyptal paint, Eastwood has it.

It is called Glyptal. The Eastwood Co. sells it, though you might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else.

Since Glyptal was developed as a coating for transformer windings, you could probably find it at an electrical supply house if there's no other local source.

Chief,

Nothing wrong with painting the inside of
an engine, but if you get any water in the
glyptal may come loose ,i have pulled several
that came loose. I use the last blast or cast
blast and so far I have not had any come loose.
The surface will have to be clean and OIL FREE
been useing it for 25 + years.

WW Grainger stocks it.I use it on electric motor work.

Glyptol was used for many years by Ford to paint the inside of castings. It's still available but not inexpensive.
