thinking about buying one of these at auction,
i've always used a sickle bar mower but never a
conditioner. is ther any problems with this model,
how reliable are they? i've had good luck with new holland mowers but have never used a conditioner. whats the average $$ for a used one?
thanks.

dad bought 1 new in 1970's. I am still using it. The rollers are getting worn, but it still works good. I put new sections in the sickle every 2 years. I replaced a bearing in the wobble drive several years age. one older than mine sold at auction 2 months ago, brought 1850.00.

I have a 489NH 9 ft It works well and I like it.I paid $1000 this spring and had another offered me at the same price. If I can find the guys number I'll be buying that one too.

Best 9ft haybine you can buy, and they are still in production at New Holland. A good machine with no rubber missing from the rollers is worth at least $3500-$4000.

The 492 is good 9' to have as well. We bought one new in the late eighties still usinging it. No complaints here.
