Does any one know the specs of the Kubota R420? Like its breakout force or lift height or weight? Would one replace a skid steer ?
Thanks,
Tom

Click on the link for a spec sheet for that machine. To answer your question about will it replace a skid steer the answer is this. In terms of breakout force, lifting capacity, bucket capacity, etc, etc it would replace a skidsteer with equal, or less, breakout force and capacities. Even then it is only replacing the skidsteer to the extent that it has equal, or greater, capabilities in those areas.

Beyond that I don"t think there is another machine built that, in a head to head comparison of similar sized machines, will replace a skid steer in regard to it"s operational speed and versitility.

Other than they both have a bucket, there is no real comparison between a skid steer and a wheel loader. They will both dig and lift material if that's what you're asking. A skid steer will have a slower travel speed but be much more maneuverable and stable on hills. A wheel loader will drive faster but usually have slower hydraulics and will tip on it's side a lot easier than a skid steer. Dave

Well I gota wad in. i have owned a R420 here on the farm for over 10 years. Us it to feed a woodmizer mill and a host of other things Like loading lime when we spread and just a lot more. i also have about a 10 year ol bobcat 843. We use it for a front mounted hydraulic auger and a hydraulic hammer to b reak rocks. Both have their advantages. I am thinkig just pure weight in the bucket the lift cap. is going to be close.
Skid steer will not go in mud anywhere close to the r420. Can,t hardly stick the little thing.
