I saw this old truck in a parking lot today in pa I thought it would look better if it was hauling an old tractor

The old truck is a 1949 heavy duty truck made by Ford. They came out when i worked at the local Ford dealer. I think it was soon designated as an F-8 model. Can't be sure what the pickup number was, but i think it was F-1. That was the half-ton.
The Dealer also sold Ford tractors, and repaired the older Ford-Fergusons. I can remember installing a bunch of the auxiliary tranmissions there. I was a helper to the tractor mechanic.

Thanks for both postings. I always enjoy the pictures and details. This forum is so interesting. Thanks again to all, Rick.

My guess: its a "48 to "50 cab on a newer chassis. The stainless steel grille pieces are worth their weight in gold nowadays.

I am posting A pic. of A 1947 or 48 F-8 Ford truck. This man lived next to us in the Country. He was in the trucking bus. I was just A teenager then. He would ask me to go with him on long trips. He taught me how to drive the trucks.

I drove this very truck with him It had
A v/8 gas engine with 5 sp. direct trans.with 2/sp. axle.

This truck has the same style cab as the red one in the pic. You can see the blower on trailer. Would put ice in nose of trailer. He haul produce out of Rio Grande valley
