Albert City Threshermen

Anyone going to this show this weekend? Can anyone compare this show to the Camp Creek show in Waverly, NE? Also, is there any flooding out that way?

Trying to decide if this show's worth a 4 hour drive or if I'd be better off going to Mt. Pleasant (or somewhere else?) instead. I'd like to hit one of the premiere Midwestern shows. Thanks.

I am leaving in 2 hours! This year is the Gathering of the Orange (national Allis Chalmers show), and I would not miss it. I was concerned about the mud. I emailed about camping last evening, and they said the camping area is not too bad. I did hear the field demonstrations could be in jeopardy though! My first time attending, so have no recommendation from experience.

Thanks, Omahagreg. Trying to decide if this show is worth the nearly 4 hour drive... or if I should just go to the Iowa State Fair instead. Would be disappointed if it's a smaller show than Camp Creek.

Don't know about the size of it, but I do know some AC guys coming from Washington State and Louisiana. I suspect the AC crowd will be strong!

I live four miles away from the show. We missed the rain last night, and if the rain that's forecast for tonight goes around us we'll be just fine for the duration. The grounds are soft but pretty good overall. The big pond was pumped out the other day with three manure pumps and the ground dried out right away. They're going to try some limited field activities this PM. Threshing will be very limited. They just couldn't get the bundles dried out and they started molding so they had to break them back open and run them through a combine wet. The wet grain will probably end up in my corn bin with both fans running. The feature tractor parking area is OK and so is the parking area for the other brands.

It might be best to unload your tractor on the gravel road and drive it in, or you can use the dock, then park the trailer at the second farm place south or at the Co-op in Albert City.

There is a BUNCH of orange there and for a Friday, there are a lot of cars in the parking lot and people walking around. Jim

Albert city is every bit as good as Camp Creek, and possibly even better because of the field demonstrations. You will not be disappointed.
