converting a IH dt312 to gas

I am thinking of converting a 312 to gas has anyone seen it done and what does it take

Substantially lowering the compression would be top of the list.

I guess I gotta ask why? Pulling tractor? It would take a tremendous amount of machine work on the head. Fitting spark plugs, some type of spacer to lower compression, adding a distributor, designing a fuel injection or carburetor system ect. I have seen diesel engines converted to run on methyl alcohol in pulling tractors. Screaming machines but a lot of work.

yes pulling tractor i know it has been done but really didn't know what it would take.

Why?!It would be a whole lot easier(and cheaper) to just repower with a good gas engine.

Before I would mess with something like that I would buy a tractor with the engine I wanted and start from there. By the way is the diesel a good runing tractor? Armand
