O/T Sold our last steer yesterday

Sad to see him go. My Dad passed away over the winter, all the land is rented and now we don't have any more cattle. I think it's the first time in about 70 years there aren't any cattle at the farm.

Some folks around here sold out, changed their barns a little and started boarding horses. Some that were smart enough to charge enough to hire help or have the owners take care of them hemselves are living the good life, making more than they did before and going on vacations.

I can see you feel some loss over the livestock leaving. Maybe you can be in place sometime down the road to bring the stock back on the farm.
I hope my place is more lucky than that. Both my son and daughter like the livestock. I hope that they can continue it that way.
