hey everybody hows it going? was wondering if any one could give me a hand out there. I have a 1953 massey furgason to30 that i just had the head done over in. I have been trting to figure out what the torque spcs were for the head bolts. also when i picked the head up from the machine shop they told me to make sure i set the valve clearance on the rockers. does anyone know what to torqe the head at and also what the clearance should be. any help is greatly apreicated

Hi Zak, My book says head bolts 70-75 lb/ft, clearances 0.015ins cold, 0.013ins hot. Hope this helps. Regards

If you look on the left side of the block on the engine data plate, the valve clearances are specified.
the torquee is 70-75 ft-lbs in a pattern starting in the center and working toward the ends. Do it in at least two stages and re do it after running it to operating temperature fow awhile.
